About the ADSDesigners Blog Train
1. Who can participate? Anyone who is a member of ADSD may participate - even if you are a newbie designer.
2. What do I make? You can make (but are not limited to) papers, elements, embellishments, wordart, titles, quick pages, frames, overlays, actions, scripts, brag book pages, etc. You do NOT have to make "everything" - make whatever you want - just stick to the color swatch for a particular collab.
3. What size? What format? ALL of our kits are FULL-SIZE kits (NO tagger size kits). This means you need to use the following guidelines:
- ALL items are created at 300 .dpi (dots per square inch)
- Papers are 12"x12" and saved in .JPG format.
- Quick Pages are saved in .PNG format if they have transparent openings, .JPG format if not.
- All other Elements are saved in .PNG format.
- TEST your PSE actions or PSP scripts before you release them!
- Brag Book Pages are usually one of the following sizes: 8"x8" or 4"x6".
4. Do we have a blinkie or seal to use on our previews? We have an official "seal" that is adjusted to match the current montly colors. You can find each seal in the specific monthly collab. section. We also have 3 Blinkies for use in 2009. These are posted in the forum for each blog train.
5. How long does a blog train last? What happens next? Can I sell my parts? All of our blog trains start on the 1st of the month and end on the last day of the month. After that, you can post your portion of the kit in whatever stores you sell through or keep it available as a freebie - your choice.
6. How can I be a part of a blog train? What are the dates for submission? Sign up in the official sign-up thread located with a particular month's section. Then post your previews in the preview thread for that section. The sign-up thread usually closes by the 25th of the month. Then a "blog roll" will be posted for you to copy/paste into your blog.
7. How do I post my preview in the Preview Thread? You need a photohost. I use Photobucket.com. Upload your preview to the photohost. Then find IMG code -( it starts with brackets) - and copy/paste that code in your reply to the preview thread. Code: [img]http://url of where your preview is here[/img]
8. Designers may offer as many add-ons to the collab as they want during the month, but the initial offering on the 1st of the month should be limited to ONE .ZIP FILE UNDER 40MB.
9. How do I share the pieces I've created? You need to zip up the files and upload them to a file-sharing host like 4shared.com, box.net, etc. Then put the link(s) to your portion on your blog.
10. How do I set up my blog to post at the right time?
- Set up a post on your blog with your previews and download links.
- Copy/Paste the Blog Roll Code from the Blog Train posts on this thread into your Blog Post.
- If you are using Blogger, click on "post options" and set the date to month/01/2009 at 12:01 AM.
- Click PUBLISH. (NOT save) Your post will publish at the time you indicated and you're all set!
